Foundation-stones laid for 'Urban Cluster' at Spituk, and amusement park at Choglamsar

The foundation stone of Urban Cluster Spituk and Amusement Park at Choglamsar was laid by Abdul Haq Khan, Minister for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj and Law & Justice on October 12.
Tsering Paldan, Assistant Committee Development, Leh informed that under Natural Resource Management (NRM) a total of ₹ 64.92 crore is earmarked out of which 70% fund will be mobilized through convergence using existing schemes and 30% fund that is ₹ 15 crore will be provided under Critical Gap Fund (CGF) that is to be spent within 3 years.
Regarding the establishment of ₹ 6.10 core Amusement Park under Rurban at Choglamsar village, he said that this Amusement Park will prove centre of attraction for entire people of Ladakh, especially for children and tourists.
Addressing the public gathering at Spituk he congratulated them to have inaugurated one of the most prestigious projects of GoI to provide urban like facilities in the surrounding villages of the urban city without disturbing the core values and environment of the village.
Considering Ladakh being a prime tourist destination, the Minister gave full assurance to extend support through Rural Development Department to promote tourism in Ladakh.
He said that Rural Development Department not only creates ample job opportunities but it also creates number of assets at a comparatively low cost than any other government executing agency.
He added that the benefit through Rural Development Department goes directly to the labourers and there is very less chance of foreplay by middleman or contractors.
At Choglamsar the Minister instructed ACD Leh to start with earthwork of the amusement park without waiting for the approval of DPR from State Level Empower Committee. He assured to approve the same DPR by convening the from State Level Empower Committee meeting within a week time and also instructed ACD Leh to include innovative things in the park with provision to run it even at night with the proper lighting system.
