The foundation stone of a new bridge with an estimated cost of₹ 1441.69 lacs. was laid by down by Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC- Rigzin Spalbar in Udmaroo on 28th August. The substructure 3x60 Mtrs Span Still Girden Bridge over Shayok River is sanctioned under 13th Finance Commission.

Rigzin Spalbar said that it’s been few years that the bridge was sanctioned, but the work has been delayed because of some issues and technical problems.  He assured for early completion of the bridge adding that works on this project will start immediately as soon as the flow of water in the river will decrease. 

"Developmental activities in this belt will speed up with the completion of this bridge," said Rigzin Spalbar. 

Executive Councillor for Health, Dr. Sonam Wangchuk, MLA Nubra-Deldan Namgail, I/C SDM Nubra, Exn. SSD Nubra and other Sub Divisional officers were present on the occasion.
