Former CEC, Dr. Sonam Dawa remembered on first death anniversary Hill Council, Leh dedicates Housing Colony park in his honour
Remembering Dr. Sonam Dawa, Former Chairman and CEC on his first death anniversary, Hill Council Leh dedicated the new park of Housing Colony in honour of him on January 26.
Addressing the gathering, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, CEC termed Late Dr. Sonam Dawa a dynamic administrator and a visionary leader.
He said that during Late Dr. Dawa 2-year term as CEC, Leh district has witnessed tremendous momentum in every sphere of development. Apart from upholding the dignity and sanctity of LAHDC, he gave prompt governance at all level accomplishing the developmental aspirations of the people and set an example for other leaders in the way of working.
“Dedicating the park in honour of Dr. Sonam Dawa is a small token of respect and people from all walks of life should follow the path of dedication, sincerity and hardworking shown by late CEC. This will be a true tribute to our beloved leader”, he added.
Jamyang Tsering Namgyal felt the need of making the day an annual feature to remember and highlight the life and deeds of Late Dr. Sonam Dawa, thus, inspiring the future generation.
A galaxy of personalities, relatives of departed leader, heads of various religious, political and social organisations paid rich tribute.
Dorjey Angchuk, BJP President, Leh, Advocate Naseer, Nominated Councillor, Rigzin Spalbar, Former CEC, Rinchen Namgyal, Vice President, LBA, Col. Lobzang Nima, representative of Anjuman Imamia and Councilor Turtuk recounted the dynamism, vitality, and heartiness of late Dr. Sonam Dawa.
