ZANSKAR :
To commemorate the 80th birthday celebration of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama Tibetan School Alumni Association (TSAA) organized an inter-school drawing and essay competition in Bhoti & English language on 17th June, at Conference hall, Tourist Dak Bungalow, Padum.
The contest was held in two different category, senior category (class 9th&12th) and junior category (class 6th&8th). More than 30 students from all the school in Zanskar took part.
The winners will be given a chance to read their essay during the 80th birth anniversary celebration of H.H The Dalai Lama on July 6th at Duzin Photang, Zanskar.
One of the members of TSAA laid down the purpose of the initiative as ‘a small effort towards the educational upliftment of the young minds of the valley, in resonance with the holy wishes of H.H the Dalai Lama.’
The headmasters, principals and the head of the schools in Zanskar said, “The contest provides an essential platform for the students to pour forth their creativity."
After the initial briefings, the programme started with the introduction of the participants from each school, followed by a two and half hours of writing and drawing period.
The programme concluded with a photo session and a cheerful seeing off from the members of TSAA of the various participants. TSAA expressed their wishes to meet the students again with other creative programmes in the future.
