EC Tashi reviews development projects across Zanskar, emphasizes timely completion
Executive Councilor for ZDA, RDD, Cooperative, and Information, LAHDC Kargil, Er. Phunchok Tashi, conducted a thorough inspection on July 11 of developmental projects underway across Zanskar. Sites visited included Stakrimo Gonpa, Zungkhul Gonpa, the ongoing construction of His Holiness the Dalai Lama Photang at Karsha, and the Revenue Complex at Padum, aimed at assessing progress achieved through various government agencies.
During the visit, EC Tashi reviewed the status of PMGSY roads from Zungkhul to Tungri bridge, Tungri to Karsha, and Old Padum to Stakrimo Monastery, directing executing agencies to accelerate their efforts for timely completion.
At Karsha, EC Tashi oversaw additional developmental initiatives, urging ZDA, REW, and Hyd engineers to expedite their work ahead of His Holiness the Dalai Lama's upcoming visit. Accompanying him were Councillor Karsha Stanzin Jikmath, Sub Divisional Officers including SDM, Tehsildar, AEEs, and JEs from R&B, PMGSY, ZDA, and Hyd.
Prior to his inspections, EC Tashi inaugurated the new Hostel/School building near Sports Stadium Padum, alongside Sub Divisional Magistrate Zanskar, Romil Singh Donk, Padma Shree Tsultrim Chonjor, Tehsildar Zanskar Mohd. Hassan, ZEO Zanskar Tsetan Konchok, staff, parents, and students.
During the inauguration, EC Tashi commended the teaching staff and students for their active participation in various activities. He praised the new school/hostel facilities provided by the Government and emphasized the importance of education and hygiene standards in student hostels.
SDM Romil Singh Donk echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the pivotal role of education in community development, while acknowledging the efforts of school staff, parents, and students. Cultural performances by students added color to the event.
