EC Punchok Tashi chairs review meeting of PWD, R&B, and Zanskar Development Authority
Executive Councilor Punchok Tashi conducted a comprehensive assessment of the progress and financial status of various ongoing schemes encompassing District Capex, State Sector, and SDP under the purview of PWD, R&B, and the Zanskar Development Authority (ZDA) on December 23.
During the review, Executive Engineer, ZDA, Mohd Toyub provided a detailed briefing on the current achievements. His diligent work was acknowledged, noting the near-complete utilization of allocated funds for the year 2023, with a few pending projects.
The upcoming fiscal year has earmarked priority sectors for completion, including several bridges in Lungnak, Sham, and Stoth areas. Projects such as the road under CRF for Ralakung, Shaday, and Junkhor under SDP, along with the macadamization of KR Pidmo and Kumik, are slated for execution in 2024.
Executive Engineer outlined plans for the construction of motorable bridges at Bakarsey, Pidmo, Sking, and FS Bridges at Surlay, Rinam, and Hanamur, set to be completed in 2024.
Underlining the focus on completing Detailed Project Reports (DPR), initiatives like the amphitheater/multipurpose stadium under ZDA, Indoor stadiums of YSS, and schools are targeted for completion and submission during the ongoing winter.
EC Tashi commended the dedicated efforts of the PWD and ZDA teams for their achievements. He expressed gratitude to the UT Administration for the recent recruitment of engineers, welcoming three Junior Engineers to R&B Zanskar and two JEs to ZDA who have recently filled vacant positions and joined the respective teams.
