A foundation stone for the accident and emergency block was laid by Dr. Nirmal Singh, Deputy CM on December 18 at SNM Hospital, Leh. Besides that OT machinery, equipment and doctors/ staff restroom cum pantry was also inaugurated. Dr. Nirmal Singh expressed the importance of health sector and said, “Along with the infrastructural development which is a continuous process, improvement and further strengthening of the health sector is the topmost priority".

He appreciated the cleanliness and hygiene maintained in the hospital and the availability of equipment and machinery along with local doctors and staff to serve the people.

With the introduction of new technology and equipment in the health sector, he also assured to take up the demand of providing training to the doctors and staffs and medical college.

Talking about the overall development of the region, Dr. Nirmal Singh said, “Understanding the various challenges faced by the people of Ladakh, the ruling government is putting every effort to make Ladakh self-reliant with the provision of every facility in the region itself without getting depended on the outside.”

Avny Lavasa, DC, Leh requested Deputy CM for the completion of the helipad for airlifting the patients which were left incomplete due to fund and the need for equipment and machinery for the sterilization department.

During the two day visit, Dr. Nirmal Singh, Deputy CM, motorable bridge of Tar, Gyara, STEEL Girder bridge of Stakna and road of Choglamsar to Hemis under CRF and underground cabling in Leh market under Leh beautification project were also inaugurated.
