DLSA Leh observes World Biodiversity Day
The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Leh, observed World Biodiversity Day at Islamia Public School on May 22.
The programme was attended by Deputy Chief Legal Aid Defence Counsel Nema Stanzin, the Principal of Islamia Public School, teachers, students, DLSA staff, and Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs).
Speakers on the occasion were interns of DLSA, Leh, Stanzin Nedon and Malika Aziz. The speakers presented a PowerPoint presentation on the importance of biodiversity, with a particular emphasis on Ladakh’s unique ecosystem and the potential threat it faces.
They discussed various measures to protect it and featured a documentary by a young Freelancer/Photographer from Leh, Mohd Tanveer. The documentary highlights waste management issues in Ladakh.
