District level role play competition held at DIET
District-level role-play competition was held among the students of higher secondary schools of Leh district under the National Population Scheme of NCERT on November 25 at DIET, Leh.
The themes of the competition were Growing up healthy, Nutritious Food and Well-being, Personal Safety (physical, Mental, Emotional, and Sexual), Safe Use of the Internet, Gadgets and Media Literacy, Substance Abuse and its Causes and Prevention.
Padma Shri awardee Morup Namgail; Culture Officer, Lundup Dorjai, and Artist (Theatre) Chetan Angchuk were the judges.
Higher Secondary School Skurbuchan secured the first position, while Higher Secondary School Tangtse secured the second position and Higher Secondary School Baima secured the third position.
Padma Shri awardee Morup Namgail shared his valuable views related to the rich culture of Ladakh and stressed the importance of the preservation of culture and tradition, Lundup Dorjey expressed that social values can be preserved through Role Play.
Chetan Angchuk stressed that Role Play is the best medium for the preservation of moral values and the removal of social stigmas.
Principal DIET Leh Chetan Dorjey assured to continue such programs in the future.
