District Election Office organises voter awareness campaign at University of Ladakh
The District Election Office, Leh, organised a SVEEP campaign at the University of Ladakh, Taru Thang, on April 1.
The event commenced with a welcome speech by Dorje Namgail, the Campus Ambassador of the University of Ladakh.
Dr. Morup, the State SVEEP Nodal Officer, delivered a presentation on applications aimed at facilitating a smooth election process. He discussed the C-vigil app, a digital tool for reporting MCC violation complaints, and introduced the Saksham app, which offers a registration process for people with disabilities (PwDs) by providing customised services. Under a new programme, PwDs are required to share their essential details with the Election Commission through a specially designed app, which is easily downloadable on Android and iOS phones.
In her address, Tajamul Ara, the District SVEEP Nodal Officer, Leh, underscored the significance of voting and urged everyone to act as ambassadors and spread the message.
Dr. Jigmat Dachen, Dean of the University of Ladakh, encouraged students to actively participate in the upcoming general Lok Sabha elections on May 20.
The campaign included various activities such as reciting the voting pledge, photography at the selfie booth, and signature campaigns.
The event was attended by faculty members and students of the university.
