To mark the first anniversary of demonetization, District Congress Committee, Leh observed ‘Black Day’ and organised a public meeting at Balkhang Chowk on November 8 against the ruling Government.

The Congress leaders made serious allegations against the anti-people programmes of the Modi Government such as GST, reduction in ration scales, inflation in the price of LPG cylinders and the high cost of essential commodities.

The speakers also criticised the BJP government headed by Narendra Modi for their false commitment made to the nation in the name of “Ache Din” and UT status for Ladakh.

The party also alleged the BJP government has scuttled the reservation of STs in promotion through the court thereby depriving the STs of in-service promotion and also to do away with article 35A in respect of J&K state. District Congress leaders demanded to keep article 35 A intact.
