The first phase of training on disaster management organised by DDMA Leh in collaboration with UTDRF and Aapda Mitra volunteers concluded in the Khaltse sub-division on March 23. 

The training program aims to train the local population for any challenged situation in times of disaster and calamity. Also, they were given practical knowledge about various disaster-related equipment to effectively meet emergencies.

In the training program, the volunteers from Apada, UTDRF persons, and other resource persons presented demonstrations related to disasters to the participants to meet any challenging situation in times of disaster.

Moreover, demonstrations were also given for first aid treatment to injured ones at the time of any untoward incident. Also, the participants were given practical training on how to deal with disasters.

Panchayat Secretary Khaltse, Shabir Hussain; Sarpanches; Nambardars; Naib Sarpanch; Panches; Public representatives; PRI members, and women participated in the training.
