Director of School Education, Tsering Paldan (JKAS), presented a proposal for the posting of recently promoted Principals, Heads of Departments (HoDs), and Deputy Chief Education Officers (Dy CEOs) to Lieutenant Governor Brig (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) at the Lt Governor’s Secretariat on March 3.

During the presentation, Tsering Paldan introduced a new point-based system that considers candidates' last three postings and assigns points based on distance from district headquarters. This system aims to ensure transparency and fairness in placements while addressing vacancies in ten headless schools requiring principals.

Lt Governor Mishra supported the initiative, stressing the need for student-centric policies and prioritizing the transfer of principals to schools with sufficient student strength over DIET Kargil. He directed the expedited promotion process to fill key vacancies at DIET Kargil, GHSS Choskore, and Phey at the earliest.

The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary Sanjeev Khirwar (IAS), Commissioner/Secretary to the LG Dr. L Franklin (IAS), Secretary GAD Michael D'Souza (IAS), and Director of School Education Tsering Paldan (JKAS).
