Deputy Commissioner chairs meeting on Swadesh Darshan 2.0 implementation in Leh
Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Santosh Sukhadeve chaired a meeting with the Project Development Management Consultant (PDMC) under Swadesh Darshan 2.0 on May 31 and discussed the implementation of the scheme.
The meeting agenda included the presentation of a detailed project report for the Leh Biodiversity Park, approval procedures for weekly and monthly progress reports, approval of invoices, and the release of payments. Additionally, discussions were held regarding the allocation of funds for upcoming marketing activities, vital for promoting tourism in the region.
PDMC members delivered the presentation on Swadesh Darshan 2.0, shedding light on its vision and strategic objectives. They explained the essential components of the Leh Biodiversity Park project, emphasizing the significance of infrastructure development. Specific features such as water source and desilting facilities, advanced irrigation systems utilizing sprinklers, and the establishment of a resilient nursery through a specialized UV-resistant polythene greenhouse were highlighted.
Furthermore, the presentation highlighted the innovative aspects aimed at enhancing visitor engagement, including the Aves canopy which aims to generate interest in special interest travelers (bird watchers). The meeting also held a discussion on the feasibility of the juniper trail within the project premises and the potential for boating in water bodies.
Notably, it was discussed that Leh Biodiversity Park was designed to serve as a platform for showcasing the region's rich geological heritage and biodiversity.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Leh, Ghulam Mohd (JKAS), CPO Leh Tsewang Gyaltson, AD Tourism, Leh, Fesal Iqbal Tantray, and PDMC team.
