Department of Health and DIET Leh organises training for school teachers
A training for the school teachers designated as ambassadors and for the heads of institutions was conducted by the Department of Health and DIET Leh on March 19.
It was informed that for the effective implementation of the School Health and Wellness Programme, teams have been constituted at zone, district, and UT levels. During the training, the teams interacted with the heads of institutions, school ambassadors, and messengers regarding the effective implementation of SHWP. They have discussed various advantages of the program and challenges while implementing the SHWP.
In accordance with the programme, district monitoring teams comprising the Health and Education Department, have been assigned to monitor the schools located in Leh zone. They will assess the implementation of the SHWP under Ayushman Bharat.
It was further informed that they have divided the teams into two groups: Team A and Team B. Team A will monitor HS Likir, MS Likir, HS Basgo, and MS Basgo Zasa. Meanwhile, Team B will monitor MS Tunglung Basgo, MS Ney, HS Nimmo and MS Nimmo.
Team A consists of State Consultant, Stanzin Angmo, Coordinator, Dawa Tsering, Lecturer DIET, Leh, Tsering Angmo, Lecturer DIET, Leh, Dr. Lobzang Chosdup. Team B consists of Special Educator, SNM Hospital, Chonyit Dolma, IT Officer, NHM, Leh, Syed Amir, Lecturer DIET, Leh, Lobzang Chorol, and Lecturer, DIET, Leh, Phunstog Dolma.
The School Health and Wellness Programme is a joint initiative of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the Ministry of Education, Government of India. launched in 2018. The programme aims to empower school children with knowledge and skills to foster positive attitudes and responsible behavior towards their health, focusing on enhancing life skills and promoting healthy habits among students.
