Delhi Chalo Padhyatra’ participants welcomed home after month-long march
Around 120 participants of the ‘Delhi Chalo Padhyatra,’ organized by the Apex Body Leh, were warmly welcomed in Leh on October 5 after their month-long march aimed at raising awareness about Ladakh's demands and urging the government to resume stalled dialogue.
The volunteers of the peace march were detained in Delhi, where they continued their protest by going on a hunger strike at various police stations. Sonam Wangchuk, along with other participants, was released by Delhi Police on October 2. Following their release, they visited the Rajghat to pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi.
After completing the Delhi Chalo Padhyatra and breaking their fast, the group submitted a memorandum to the government, hoping it would prompt the center to resume discussions regarding Ladakh's concerns.
A large crowd gathered to greet the returning padhyatris in Leh, expressing their gratitude and praising the endurance and strength they displayed during their journey.
