DC Kargil reviews progress of PM Vishwakarma Scheme implementation

Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC Kargil, Shrikant Suse, convened a meeting on February 25 to review the progress of PM Vishwakarma, a Central Sector Scheme aimed at supporting traditional artisans and craftsmen in the district.

The meeting was attended by General Manager of District Industries Centre (DIC) Kargil, Abdul Hadi (CPO), Joint Director MSME DFO Jammu (virtually), FM DIC Kargil, Lead District Manager Kargil, Cluster Head J&K Bank Kargil, and the PMU Team (virtually).

The agenda covered several vital aspects of the Vishwakarma Scheme, including a review of the implementation of the Vishwakarma Scheme, the status of training for artisans, disbursement of loans to artisans, awareness camps and outreach initiatives and the status of identified training centers in the Sub-Divisions.

DC Shrikant Suse conducted a detailed review of these aspects, emphasizing the need for timely loan disbursement, increased awareness initiatives, and the swift establishment of training centers to equip artisans with essential skills and financial support.

He also directed officials to organize special loan disbursement camps in subdivisions and at the district headquarters to facilitate financial aid for local artisans.

The meeting reinforced the administration’s commitment to ensuring the effective execution of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme and enhancing its impact on the artisan community in Kargil.
