Councillor, Chushul, Konchok Stanzin called on the Lieutenant Governor, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), at Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat on February 29.

Advisor to LG, Dr Pawan Kotwal, IAS; Principal Secretary, School Education Department, Ladakh, Sanjeev Khirwar, IAS; Commissioner Secretary, Tourism, Kacho Mehboob Ali Khan; Secretary to LG, Ravinder Kumar, IAS; Secretary, PWD, Ladakh, Micheal D Souza, IAS; Deputy Commissioner, Leh,  Santosh Sukhadeve, IAS and Chief Agriculture Officer, Leh, Thinles Dawa were present in the meeting.

Stanzin apprised the LG of the damage caused to the crop in Chushul and Kargyam village due to rainfall and requested to provide seeds to the villagers as  compensation. Additionally, he requested compensation for the owner of the guest house whose building was damaged in a fire incident at Merak village.

The LG directed DC Leh to estimate the damage to the crops and provide assistance to the villagers. He also directed Chief Agriculture Officer, Leh, Thinles Dawa to provide seeds to the villagers before commencement of the agriculture season in May.
