CEC Tashi Gyalson reviews execution plan for Ladakh’s largest solar power project

Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson chaired a meeting on February 25 to discuss the planning and execution of Ladakh’s largest solar power project—the LPDD 12MW AC / 15MWp DC Solar Photovoltaic Project in Phey.

The meeting was attended by Chief Engineer PDD Tsewang Paljor, representatives from Ecoteq Green Energies Foundation and M/s Oneindig Technologies Limited, as well as Thiksey Councillor Stanzin Chosphel and Khaltse Councillor Lobzang Sherab.

Funded under the Special Development Package (SDP), with land allocated by LAHDC Leh, the ₹65 crore project aims to enhance power availability and significantly reduce carbon emissions in Leh and its surrounding areas.

CEC Tashi Gyalson stressed the importance of timely execution and urged all stakeholders to ensure its successful completion. He highlighted that the initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of making Ladakh a carbon-neutral region.

By promoting clean and renewable energy, this project marks a significant step in Ladakh’s transition towards a sustainable and eco-friendly future.
