CEC Leh meets Home Minister Amit Shah, discusses key Ladakh issues

CEC, LAHDC Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson, met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on April 3 to discuss key issues concerning the region.
During the meeting, CEC Gyalson highlighted the need for enhanced budgetary allocations for LAHDC, stressing the requirement for additional support from the Special Development Package (SDP) to meet the region’s growing demands.
A detailed discussion was held on various Ladakh-specific challenges, aiming for holistic solutions. The CEC also emphasized the urgency of streamlining the recruitment process and implementing an integrated policy for land regularization.
To boost accessibility and promote tourism, CEC Gyalson urged for increased air connectivity, citing its potential to strengthen the local economy as tourist inflow gains momentum.
Additionally, he apprised the Home Minister of the developmental activities undertaken since Ladakh’s transition into a Union Territory and extended an invitation for him to visit Ladakh and inaugurate various projects.
Reiterating the government’s commitment to Ladakh’s development, Home Minister Amit Shah assured his full support for addressing the region’s concerns.
