CEC, Leh, flags off survey team for active TB case finding in Leh
Two-month-long Active Tuberculosis (TB) Case Finding under the campaign themed, ‘'TB Harega Desh Jeetega' started in Leh district from September 15.
The campaign was flagged off by CEC, Hill Council, Leh, Tashi Gyalson from Council Secretariat. The mobile team will start their survey from one of the remotest regions of the Trans Singay Lalok region and will start screenings for TB with advanced equipment such as TrueNat.
DTO Leh, Dr. Tashi Namgyal informed that the initiative of the National TB Elimination Programme (NTEP) has been taken by the Ministry of Health, Government of India to eliminate Tuberculosis in India by the year 2025. He added that the mobile team from District TB Control will conduct surveys and educate the locals on the importance of TB screening. He also stated that the locals will get direct benefits transfer from the District and UT Administration.
The campaign has been conducted under the banner of 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav' marking the 75 glorious years of India's Independence.
CMO Leh, Medical Superintendent SNM Hospital Leh, and various officials from the Health Department Leh were also present.
