Ahead of the visit of His Holiness Dalai Lama to Zanskar for 3 days, CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Feroz Ahmed Khan reviewed the necessary arrangements in a meeting with the concerned officers on July 28.

SDM Zanskar, Sonam Dorjey apprised the meeting that the arrangements regarding the visit of His Holiness Dalai Lama are going on smoothly besides necessary arrangements including deployment of 4 water tankers, 30 tents, 30 tarpaulin, 8 reserved rooms for VIPS in Dag Bungalow, PA system and other arrangements are made.

CEC Khan asked all the officers of the concerned departments to assure all arrangements are in place before His Holiness scheduled arrival date of August 11, 2022.

He advised the closure of schools in the Zanskar sub-division including Rangdum on August 11, 12, and 13th given the preaching sessions of HH Dalai Lama, considering the preaching sessions as a part of moral education & ethical learning.

DC Kargil was asked to appoint ADC Kargil as Nodal Officer at the district level and SDM Zanskar as Nodal Officer at the Zanskar sub-division level for the overall supervision.

The concerned officers were asked to work in close coordination with each other to make the visit of His Holiness Dalai Lama successful.
