CEC Kargil inspects healthcare and educational facilities in Sankoo

Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, conducted a surprise visit to CHC Sankoo on January 29 to inspect the healthcare facilities available to patients.

He also visited Aga Syed Hyder Razvi Memorial Higher Secondary School Sankoo and the girls' coaching center to review the hostel facilities provided to students.

Dr. Akhoon was accompanied by Councilors Aga Syed Ahmed and Ghulam Haider, Chief Medical Officer Kargil, Executive Engineer SVD Sankoo, Block Medical Officer Sankoo, Deputy CEO, and other concerned officials.

During his visit to CHC Sankoo, Dr. Akhoon inspected all wards and interacted with patients to assess their health conditions and the quality of care provided at the hospital. He emphasized the importance of punctuality among doctors and staff and instructed them to maintain high standards of medical care.

The CEC directed CMO Kargil and BMO Sankoo to prepare Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for constructing additional staff quarters and accommodation facilities.

While inspecting the X-ray unit, he found that the manual machine was operational, whereas the digital machine had a technical fault. The CMO Kargil assured him that the issue would be resolved promptly by the technical team.

Addressing the shortage of pediatric doctors, Dr. Akhoon assured that the matter would be prioritized and resolved in the coming days.

He also instructed BMO Kargil to ensure that OPD services start promptly at 9:30 AM, in line with the circular issued by the UT Administration, emphasizing that it must be followed strictly.

Dr. Akhoon further assured that efforts were being made to procure a CT scan machine not only for CHC Sankoo but for all CHCs across the district. He stated that discussions with stakeholders were ongoing and expressed optimism about securing the equipment soon.

Additionally, the CEC directed the In-Charge Officer of Police Post Sankoo to facilitate the issuance of birth and character certificates from the local police post to ease difficulties faced by residents.

Later, Dr. Akhoon visited Aga Syed Hyder Razvi Memorial Higher Secondary School Sankoo and the girls' coaching center to inspect hostel facilities.
He encouraged students to take full advantage of the hostel amenities to improve their academic performance, particularly in the upcoming board examinations. He also urged them to inform fellow students about the benefits of hostel facilities and encourage them to utilize the resources available.
