Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, chaired a meeting on March 7 to address concerns regarding the booking process for the AN-32 Courier Service.

The meeting was attended by Executive Councillor for Tourism, Kacho Mohd Feroz; Executive Councillor for Social Welfare, Aga Syed Mujtaba; Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse; Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Wani; and Headquarter to DC, Kaneez Fatima. Chief Coordinator AN-32 Courier Service, Aamir Ali; Liaison Officers from Kargil, Jammu, and Srinagar; and a representative from Mobiquel participated virtually.

During the discussion, Dr. Akhoon clarified that the ticket booking process is not under the jurisdiction of the Hill Council Kargil. However, he assured the public of a transparent and hassle-free ticket issuance process and urged them not to hold the Council responsible for booking-related issues.

During the meeting, the CEC instructed to increase the general seating capacity from 30 to 35 seats. The booking portal will be live from 11 AM to 5 PM only, and the priority list will be considered after allocating the 35 general seats. The CEC instructed that the priority link be closed from 5 PM to 7 PM. He was informed that access to the portal has been suspended from the Liaison Officers and will now be managed by the IT department.

The CEC stressed the need for seamless coordination to prevent inconvenience to the public and ensure smooth operations of the service.
