CEC, Hill Council, Leh visits Ladakh Institute of Prevention Padma Shri awardee, Dr. Tsering Norboo highlighted the need for improvisation in the local health sector especially towards mother and child care development
CEC, Hill Council, Leh, Advocate Tashi Gyalson visited Ladakh Institute of Prevention (LIP) at Dambuchan on July 17 and discussed plans for implementation of such projects in the district.
ADC Leh, CMO Leh, Xen Constt., Xen PHE and the Executive members of LIP were also present.
Honorary Secretary, LIP, Padma Shri Awardee, Dr. Tsering Norboo gave a detailed presentation and apprised the Chairman and the district officers on the vision of Ladakh Institute of Prevention and their works in the local health sector. He also highlighted the need for improvisation in the local health sector especially towards the mother and child care development.
Dr Norboo also requested the Chairman to support the institute in educating the people of Ladakh as well as the need for special care towards child care and development in line with the health department, which would eventually help prevent as many health-related issues causing losses to lives in Ladakh.
CEC Gyalson appreciated the noble efforts made by LIP led by prominent personalities including a well-known Physician and a Padma Shree Awardee, Dr. Norboo. He reviewed the health handbook produced by LIP on Mother and Child Care Development and assured that LAHDC, Leh will soon adopt and introduce flagship programs/workshops in line with the Ladakh Institute of Prevention.
He also informed that LAHDC, Leh will stress upon formulating and implementing such innovative suggestions given by the experts especially in the health and education sector.
