CEC Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon chairs meeting on SAMAGRA Shiksha expenditure
Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, CEC, LAHDC Kargil, chaired a meeting to review zone-wise and school-wise expenditures under the SAMAGRA Shiksha scheme on September 17. The session brought together key educational figures, including the Director of School Education, Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs), and Headmasters.
Attendees included Executive Councillor for Irrigation and Flood Control, Kacho Mohd Feroz; Executive Councillor for Social Welfare, Aga Syed Mujtaba; the Director of School Education; Executive Engineer (EXN), R&B; Chief Education Officer, Kargil; and the ZEOs, Principals, and Headmasters of all high schools in Kargil.
Dr. Akhoon reviewed the financial progress of ongoing SAMAGRA Shiksha projects, focusing on the approved works for the 2024-25 period at the ZEO level, as well as spillover works at the zonal level and in high secondary schools (HSS) and high schools throughout Kargil.
The CEC addressed variations in unit costs, emphasized the need for timely project completion, and stressed that expenditures should align with the approved budget.
He also sought feedback on several critical issues, including the status of remedial classes, concerns about school cooks, and other operational challenges educational institutions face.
In his remarks, Dr. Akhoon underscored the significance of education and healthcare, calling on all stakeholders to work diligently to benefit Kargil’s students. He assured that the Hill Council is committed to enhancing education and infrastructure to support the community.
