Awareness programme on elimination of violence against women held
As a part of International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, Nayi Chetna 2.0 campaign against gender-based violence will be held from November 25 to December 22.
District Hub for Empowerment of Women Leh conducts an awareness programme on Elimination of Violence against Women.
To create awareness about gender-based violence, mental health, and menstrual hygiene among the student community a five-day programme kicked off on November 30 at Government Higher Secondary School Girl Leh. The programme is being organised by the Directorate of Social and Tribal Welfare Department UT Ladakh under Mission Shakti.
Central Administrator, Shahida Parveen briefed about Mission Shakti and Councillor Rinchen Dolker gave a presentation and briefed about the importance of Mental Health. She also talked about the most common mental health conditions and what we can do to help the victims.
While talking about gender based violence, case worker, Shamima talked at length about the services available at one-stop centre at Leh.
The event concluded with District Mission Coordinator, Diskit Lhadol briefing about the importance of Menstrual Hygiene and Health. Followed by her talk, a fruitful questions and answers session was held.
Principal and staff members of the school appreciated the team for such fruitful programme and urged them to conduct such event in future as well.
