Awareness program on female cancer, menstrual health held in Kargil
An awareness program on screening for cancer among females and menstrual health was held in Kargil on February 18.
The program was organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Kargil, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt. of India in collaboration with Block Medical Officer, Tai Suru, and environmental, social, and sports associations of Tai Suru.
A large number of women from Tai Suru block participated in the program. The program was attended by gynecologist Dr. Nasreen Fatima; Incharge Police Post Sankoo (SI), Tsering Dolkar; District Youth Officer, NYK Kargil, Jigmat Spaldon and Social Worker at Special Cell for Women, Hassina Batool.
Dr. Nasreen spoke on female cancer, menstrual health, and hygiene and also demonstrated how to examine breast cancer by themselves and gave different examples.
Hassina Batool enlightened the gathering about the help provided by the Special Cell for Women to all women who are facing domestic violence. SI Tsering Dolkar gave awareness about cybercrimes with various examples and explained various ways to deal with them.
Jigmat Spaldon briefed about various works of the NYK Kargil and encouraged the gathering to participate in such awareness programs.
Later, the women of Tai Suru thanked the NYK Kargil for organizing such programs in far-flung areas
