Anjuman Moin ul Islam Youth Wing, Leh condemns Wasim Rizvi’s plea to remove 26 Quranic verses
Anjuman Moin-ul- Islam youth wing condemned Wasim Rizvi’s plea to remove 26 verses of the Holy Quran in Supreme Court.
Addressing a press conference on March 15, Advocate Mohd. Ramzan Khan said, “We strongly condemn the petition of Wasim Rizvi. He has attacked the sanctity of the Holy Quran which has hurt the sentiments of the Muslim faith followers across the world”.
“The act of Wasim Rizvi has created disharmony and unrest among the people. He is also trying to destroy the religious harmony of India”, he added.
Anjuman Moin-ul- Islam youth wing demanded the immediate arrest of Wasim Rizvi and punish him severely.
Wasim Rizvi, Former Chairman of Uttar Pradesh Shia Central Waqf Board filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking the removal of 26 verses from the Holy Quran. As per Rizvi’s petition, these verses incite violence and promote terrorism and jihad. He also added that the verses were added later in the Quran during the period of the first three Caliphs.
His move to file the petition in the apex court resulted in massive protest and condemnation from several Islamic organizations in the country.
