AICTE organises PMSSS awareness workshop in Leh 70 students from both government and private schools attended the workshop
One-day awareness workshop on the Prime Minister's Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS) for students of Leh was held at Paras Hall, Boys Higher Secondary School, Leh on September 17.
The awareness programme was organised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and around 70 students from both government and private schools attended the workshop.
Professor, Ajeet Angral, Consultant PMSSS shared information with the students and advised the aspirants to select the courses as per their aptitude and capabilities. He said that the scholarship scheme can bring a paradigm shift in the education system and economy of the district.
He assured every support to the students of Leh in realizing their career goals through the PMSSS and briefed them about the online registration and documents verification process. Also, he briefed about the precautionary measures to be taken during registration, verification, and counseling.
Later, an interaction session was conducted in which queries of the students were answered by the consultant.
Under PMSSS students are offered scholarships for pursuing undergraduate courses in Medical, Engineering, and General streams outside the state for which amount of scholarship. Students who are the domicile residents of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh and have passed 10+2 examination from J&K Board or CBSE located in J&K, willing to study outside the state, having a family income of Rs 8 lakh or below per annum are eligible to avail benefit under the scheme.
