Advisor Dr. Kotwal stresses transparency in CPWD project execution and budget utilization
Advisor Dr. Pawan Kotwal reviewed the progress of developmental projects being executed by the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) for various departments during a meeting at the UT Secretariat Conference Hall, Leh, on October 8.
Director of Finance, Dr. Safdar Ali, briefed the Advisor on the budget allocations provided to different departments to carry out developmental works through the CPWD.
Dr. Kotwal emphasized the need to expedite the budget allocation process and directed the CPWD to ensure that projects are completed within the set timelines. He also urged the concerned departments to utilize the funds effectively, ensuring they are properly allocated to complete the developmental projects.
Highlighting the importance of transparency, accountability, and efficiency, Dr. Kotwal stressed the collective responsibility of all officers to ensure that public resources are used judiciously. He noted that every rupee spent must contribute meaningfully to the overall development of Ladakh and directed the concerned officials to ensure that all projects are carried out with integrity, maximizing the impact of public funds.

D'Souza; Deputy Commissioner Leh, Santosh Sukhdeve; Chief Engineer, CPWD; Chief Engineer, PW(R&B), Abdul Mutalib; Additional Secretary of Finance, Dr. Safdar Ali; and Directors of various departments. Officials stationed outside Leh attended the meeting virtually.
