Aadhaar workshop emphasizes face authentication for enhanced governance
A workshop aimed at maximizing the benefits of Aadhaar-linked schemes was organized by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), Regional Office, Chandigarh, on September 17. The event took place at the UT Secretariat, Leh.
Dr. Pawan Kotwal, Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, and Bhawna Garg, DDG UIDAI, Regional Office, Chandigarh, were present during the workshop.
Presentations were made on the Aadhaar ecosystem, authentication processes, and use cases to ensure optimal impact of Aadhaar-based governance. Successful examples of good governance using Aadhaar from different states were showcased, and government departments were encouraged to adopt face authentication for enhanced security and efficiency. Discussions also explored potential areas where Aadhaar could be leveraged for improved governance, particularly in social welfare programs.
Over 30 representatives from various government departments, including Sanjeev Khirwar, Principal Secretary of the Department of School Education, and Padma Angmo, Commissioner Secretary of Social Welfare, Women, and Child Development, attended the workshop.
Experts provided insights into the Aadhaar ecosystem, explaining the authentication processes and how to maximize the benefits of Aadhaar-linked services.
