700 patients get free medical treatment and health education in Changthang

LALOK :
Around 700 people were treated in a three week long free medical camp from July 24 to August 15 in the far flung villages of Lalok and Changthang.
The medical camp was held at Shang, Shachukul, Tangtse, Durbuk, Kargyam, Tharuk, Chilam, Lukung, Phobrang, Chushul, Man-Merak, Shayok, Shachukul monk-school and Choglamsar Sakya Nunnery.
Following the advice of His Holiness, Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang Rinpoche and his sister Namgyal Lhamo Takhla, essential medical care, free medicines, oral hygiene kits and health talk was provided by the team of doctors, supporters and volunteers.
Dr. Odette Phillips (Acupuncturist and General Physician) from Australia, Dr. Marcos Baltuska (Dentist) from Argentina, Mary-Ann Rowland (Group Leader and Co-ordinator) from New Zealand, Ven. Namgyal Tondup (Organiser and Co-ordinator), Ani Thinley Angmo and Ani Tashi Dolker (Assistant Acupuncturists) and Kunzang Angmo (Translator) were leading members of the team along with the volunteers.
Patient mostly suffering from hypertension, arthritis, eye problem, upper back pain and gastric pain were treated.
