2-day training program on Renewable Energy and Climate Change held in Kargil
A two-day training program on “Renewable Energy and Climate Change” was organized by Kargil Renewable Energy Development Agency (KREDA-Kargil) in collaboration with District Administration Kargil and Heliosvento Power Infra OPC Pvt Ltd. in Kargil on July 19-20.
The program was held for all stakeholders viz: engineers & technicians from different government departments of the district as well as private sectors, start-up entrepreneurs, and students.
The training was imparted specially emphasizing the potentialities of harnessing solar and wind energy and also covered different sectors of energy like Solar, Wind, Thermal, Hydro, etc. in the Ladakh region which was effectively responded by the trainees.
During the session, various RE projects being implemented by KREDA also came to light. The trainees were taken to a Solar Photovoltaic (5kWp) site within the Council Secretariat at the KREDA office. They were also educated and practically shown the working of various renewable energy systems/components such as solar water heaters, solar dish cookers, etc.
The startup entrepreneurs during the session requested KREDA and Shivani Jhariya, Owner and Co-founder, Heliosvento to impart such training in the future as well.
Joint Director Information UT Ladakh, Imteeaz Kacho appreciated the steps taken by KREDA in achieving the vision of the Prime Minister of India for making Ladakh Carbon Neutral.
He thanked Shivani Jhariya for conducting such a fruitful session of training for two days which is reflected by the effective response of the trainees.
Kacho assured all possible help to KREDA for publishing pamphlets for making people aware of the importance of renewable energy and water conservation.
