1 Ladakh Battalion NCC Leh organised its inaugural annual training camp in Kargil on May 28. Over 280 school and college-going cadets from across Ladakh participated in the training.

The training programme aimed to cultivate motivated, organised, and skilled youth capable of leadership in diverse areas. It encompassed various basic military activities, including drill, weapon training, fieldcraft, battlecraft, map reading, and firing.

To enrich the programme, experts from different fields were invited. Taira Bano, Assistant Professor of English at GDC Kargil, was invited as the guest speaker. She extensively discussed career prospects, emphasising aligning career choices with personal interests. The importance of skills, interests, and academics in achieving goals was emphasised, along with technical advice on managing crises.

Special focus was placed on techniques for unlocking students' latent potentials. Cadets enthusiastically attended Taira Bano's lecture, appreciating her unique delivery style and wealth of experience.
