Leh :
Lailatul Qadr, the Night of Worship or The Night of Destiny was celebrated at Imam Bargah Leh and Jamia Masjid Leh under the guidance of Sheikh Qasim Muttahari and Hafiz Ghulam Mohd. Shab Qadr was celebrated on the night of 17, 19, 21 and 25th July at Leh.
After observing fast in Holy month of Ramazan, the night of ‘Lailatul qadr’ is the night when people gather in the mosques and pray whole night and seek blessings from Almighty Allah. This night holds great significance as on this night Allah revealed the Holy Quran to Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon Him) and Allah chose to show man the way to his happiness in this present life and the life Hereafter, providing him with a constitution to implement. Shia Muslims also observe this night as the death anniversary of Imam Ali (AS), the son-in-law of Prophet when he was martyred in the mosque while offering Namaz.
It is believed that on this night whoever demands forgiveness of the past sins, health, happiness and reward of the past good deeds, Allah listens to his heart and blesses him and fulfils his/her wishes. On this night people pray from night till dawn holding the Holy Quran in their hand and reciting durood.
Both the leaders highlighted the importance that this night holds and appealed the people not to get indulged in any kind of sins and follow the footsteps and teachings of Holy Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). Devoting time to remember Allah, Muslims also hope to receive diving favors and blessings connected with Lailatul-Qadr.
