Vikas Kundal, DC/ CEO, LAHDC, Kargil administered oath to newly elected Sarpanches of the district on January 19 at Conference Hall, Baroo.

Dr. Vinod Kumar, Superintendent of Police Kargil besides other concerned officers were also present.

Vikas Kundal congratulated the elected members of the Panchayati Raj Institution (PRI)  and urged to equip themselves with necessary know how of the provisions of J&K Panchayat Raj Act and their roles, functions and responsibilities contained therein.

He also stressed on the members to show all out enthusiasm and interest in the ongoing PRI members training programme. Also, he emphasized the newly elected members to work with utmost dedication and integrity for the welfare of the people at the grassroots level.

Highlighting the importance of the PRIs in the implementation of people’s welfare schemes he said that District Administration is committed to extend all possible support in formulation of plans and subsequent implementation.

Meanwhile, 4 day training programme for the 2nd batch of 49 Sarpanchs also kick-started.
