World Population Day was observed by Health Dept. kargil in Auditorium Hall Kargil on 11 July 2014 under the theme ‘Chota Kumba Khushaal Kumba’. Executive Councilor Rural Development Deptt. Health and CA&PD Haji Mohd Shafi was the Chief Guest on the occasion, doctors, District Officers and ASHA’s also participated in the event.

The speakers who spoke on the ocassion included CMO Kargil Dr. Shabir Hussain Bhat; Gynaecologist Dr. Zahra; BMO kargil Dr Fatima; Lady Health Visitor (LHV) Sakina Bano. All the speakers threw light on the threats due to increasing population and stressed on the need to adopt various Family Planning methods to control the population explosion . Various stalls were also put up to demonstrate various Family Planning methods on the occasion.
