Tsering Samphel, President District Congress Committee in a press release dated 14th August called the violent incidents that occurred between Leh and Kargil Taxi Operators as extremely unfortunate. 

He said that the incident speaks aloud that the law and order machinery in the region have collapsed and people are at their whims to take the law in their hands. 

He added that DCC, Leh strongly condemns these anti-social elements.  He also said that these incidents show that the peace and prosperity of the region are at stake. He further mentioned that the DCC calls upon the administration and the people of the Ladakh region to be proactive in defusing the worsening situation.
