In order to have a check and surveillance regarding Nipah Virus, a team of rapid response was constituted on May 23 under Integrated Disease Surveillance Project (IDSP). Regarding this, a meeting of District Rapid response team was held at CMO Office chamber on May 24. 

 

The team consists of Dr. Mohd Iqbal, DHO, Leh, Dr. Lotus Gailson, Physician Specialist, SNM Hospital Leh, Dr Zahid Hussain , Paediatrician, Rigzin Deldan, Pharmacist, CMO Office Leh, Stanzin Zangmo, Lab Assistant. Tech and Tashi Tundup N/O SNM Hospital, Leh

 

Health officials said people should be alert but not panic about the virus as the disease is preventable.
