Ladakh dPal-rNgam Duston 2018 to commemorate Lama Lotsava Rinchen Zangpo

Ladakh dPal-rNgam Duston to celebrate in honour of Lama Lotsawa Rinchen Zangpo on October 19 at Nyerma Thiksey.
The event will be held in two parts; first at Leh Palace at 9 in the morning where CEC would address people of Ladakh. Thereafter, the main celebrations would start at Nyerma Thiksey at 11am simultaneously with similar programs at Alchi, Mangyu, and Sumdha.
Nyerma Thiksey was once a hub of Buddhism founded by Lama Lotsava Rinchen Zangpo in the 11th century.
The programs of the festival were finalized in a meeting convened under the chairmanship of Dorjey Motup, CEC on October 5 at Council Secretariat.
Dorjay Motup informed that Ladakh dPal-rNgam Duston will be celebrated in a unique traditional way. Similar events will also be organised at Alchi, Mangyu and Sumdha villages. Large collection of invaluable treasures of Lotsawa Rinchen Zangpo’s work still exists and is well preserved in these villages. Photo exhibition on Lama Lotsawa’s work will be showcased at Nyerma by the CIBS. The photos will be exhibited on the walls of ruined temples.
He also seeks cooperation from the people of Thiksey, Shey, Rambirpur, Nang, Alchi, Mangyu and Sumdha villages. Councilors and nambardars of the respective constituency assured to play their role with utmost care and responsibility.
The meeting was attended by Tsering Wangdus, EC Agriculture, Gyal P Wangyal, EC Health, Councilors of Khaltsi, Sku-Markha and Thiksey constituencies, Nambardars of Thiksey, Shey, Rambirpur and Nang villages, Tsewang Paljor, Cultural Officer and all the concerned district officers.
