J&K Academy of Art, culture and languages Kargil held Multilingual Hamdia Mushaira

In connection with the Holy month of Ramazan, Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Kargil organized a District Level Multilingual Hamdia Mushaira at Academy Hall, Baroo, Kargil on 08 July, 2014. As many as 23 senior as well as budding poets from several parts of Kargil recited their Hamdia compositions in Balti, Purgi, Shina as well as Urdu languages reflecting the virtues of the holy month of Ramazan. Haji Muhammad Shafi Executive Councilor for Rural Development and DRDA was the chief guest on the occasion.
The Mushaira was presided over by noted senior scholar and poet Haji Abdul Hamid Tanvir while as the poets who presented their poems included Haji Muhammad Baqir Baqir, Sadiq Ali Sadiq, Akhone Asgar Ali Basharat, Akhone Safdar Ali Safdar, Bashir Ahmed Wafa, Muhammad Hussain Rehnuma, Haji Muhammad Ibrahim Rahee, Akber Ali Khan Shaheen, Sibte Hassan Kaleem, Gazanfar Ali Shahbaaz , Akhone Muhammad Ali Subeor ,Mukhtar Ahmed Zahid, Muhammad Jawad Jalib, Muhammad Hussain Fayaaz, Haji Abdul Hamid Tanvir, Ghulam Murtaza Advocate, Nassiruddin Khafee, Muhammad Kazim Aajiz ,Muhammad Issa Sabiri, Muhammad Hussain Olpa, Skarma Junglay and Muhammad Ali Baba.
Speaking on the occasion Haji Muhammad Shafi congratulated the Academy for organising such poetic session. While terming Ramazan as the month of blessings Shafi said that the holy month preaches tolerance, humility and self control therby making human beings in close proximity to God.
Muhammad Ali Tak Cultural Officer while presenting an overview of the activities of Cultural Academy, Kargil said that the poetic sessions among other literary gatherings held by the Academy from time to time are intended to ensure that the tradition of poetry especially in vernacular languages remains alive and intact. While restating the pledge of the Academy towards cultural promotion and preservation Tak said that more such literary and other activities will be onserved in the near future.
Among others who were present on the occasion included poets, writers, district officers, school and college students, and a large number of public. Nazir Hussain Special Officer for Cultural Activities G-1 delivered the vote of thanks at the end.
Earlier during a book release ceremony at Academy Hall Baroo, Kargil Balti Purgi Poetic Collection entitled ‘Kaliman’ by noted senior scholar and poet Kacho Asfandyar Khan was released by Executive Councilor for Rural Development and DRDA Haji Muhammad Shafi in presence of a galaxy of writers, poets and literature enthusiasts. Kaliman is the fourth book by the writer after Dastan-e-Karbala his poetic anthology in Balti, Ancient Wisdom –a collection of ancient Ladakhi Sayings and Proverbs and his Urdu poetic collection Dam-e-Khayaal.
