Ten-day Modern Archery Workshop for school students commences in Khaltse
A ten-day workshop on ‘Basic Steps/Technique of Modern Archery’ for the students of various schools in the Khaltse zone commenced on October 1.
The workshop was organised and initiated by Councillor Khaltse, Lobzang Sherab along with Archery Association Ladakh. District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Leh, Tsering Tashi was the Chief Guest whereas Tehsildar Khaltse, Tanveer Ahmad was the Guest of Honour at the inaugural ceremony.
District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Leh, Tsering Tashi spoke about the importance of sports in education and advised the students to participate in various sports events. He urged the students to take maximum benefit from the archery workshop.
Tehsildar Khaltse and Councillor Khaltse also addressed the gathering on the importance of sports and archery.
Archery Coach of District Youth Services and Sports Department, Leh, Motup Namgail highlighted the important aspects of a healthy mind and body to be at the top of the game. He theoretically and practically explained archery and its basic techniques.
Students from various schools in the Khaltse zone are participating in the workshop. It was also informed that any interested officers/officials could also participate in the archery workshop.
Executive Engineer, PWD Khaltse, Ghulam Nabi; Sarpanch Khaltsi, Nawang Rigzin; In charge Principal, Higher Secondary School, Khaltse, Rigzin Namgail; Assistant Professor GDC Khaltse, Zuheer Hussain; Headmaster Government Middle School, Khaltsi; Principal Moravian Mission School Khaltse; Principal Lamdon Jamyang School Khaltse and, all the Physical Education teachers and students of various school of Khaltse zone were present on the occasion.
