The 7th CEC Ice Hockey Cup was played between LSRC Red (Ladakh Scout Regimental Centre) and LSRC Blue, in which LSRC Blue defeated LSRC Red by 3-0 goals and in the women category, SECMOL defeated Tip Top by 3-0 and won the Cup at Ice Hockey Rink Karzoo on 3rd February.

During the occasion Lt. Gen Rakesh Sharma was the Chief Guest and other prominent dignitaries included DC Simrandeep Singh, SSP Dr. Sunil Gupta, EC Sheep and Animal Husbandry Gurmet Dorje and ASP T. Gyalpo and other army and district officers were also present.  

The 7th CEC Cup was organized by LAHDC Leh and District Youth Services and Sports, eight boys’ teams participated and participation of three women teams made the event even more thrilling.

While addressing to the players and spectators Lt. Gen Rakesh Sharma appreciated both the teams for making it to the finals and the performances and hard work of the small children added more beauty to the event. He further extended his gratitude for inviting him and said that he will look forward for more such encouraging events in the future.

Race between small kids also took place in which Padma Youdol won first in girl’s racing competition and Mohd Hussain stood first in boy’s competition. In the Boys under 14 racing competition Tsering Jamphel won first rank and in girls section Stanzin Zetsal won first rank.

Apart from this, 500 meters race was also held wherein Padma Gurmet got first, Stanzin Gonbo second and Tsering Gyalpo got third position.

During the closing ceremony, the Chief Guest distributed trophies and prizes among the winner and runner up team. In men’s section ITBP won bronze, 1st runner up team LSRC Red won Silver and LSRC Blue won Gold medal.
