17 boxers to represent Leh district in state championship
17 boxers including both boys and girls to represent Leh district in the state championship scheduled to be held from February 9 to 11 in Jammu.
One month boxing camp for both boys and girls by head coach Zia-Ul-Hassan was organised by J&K Sports Council at Indoor stadium Leh. The coaching camp started from December 25 till January 25.
In District open championship held on November 13 and 14, 120 players took part from Leh. Out of which 35 players were qualified for the state camp and based on the performance the final 11 were shortlisted.
Travelling expenditure of the players for the state championship was funded by Phuntsog Gyamdu, M.D, Taru Enterprises Leh and the boarding and lodging by Avny Lavasa, DC, Leh.
Based on their performance in state-level championship the players will qualify for the national trials. The scanning of the players for S.R.O in Jammu And Kashmir Police Boxing team and B.S.F Boxing team will be held during the tournament by their coaches.
