A preparatory meeting for the celebration of Republic day in both the district Leh and Kargil was convened by Umang Narula, Advisor to LG Ladakh on January 6.

The national day will be celebrated at Pologround in Leh and Sultan Chowk Stadium in Kargil. RK Mathur, Lieutenant Governor Ladakh will unfurl the National Flag in Leh.
 
Umang Narula said that with the formation of UT Ladakh the national function this year should be held at state-level standards in every manner. He instructed to ensure every arrangement in place on January 26 as well during the rehearsals.
 
Rigzin Samphel, Commissioner/Secretary Ladakh; Saugat Biswas, Divisional Commissioner/Secretary Ladakh; S.S. Khandare, Inspector General of Police Ladakh; Sachin Kumar Vaishya, Deputy Commissioner Leh; officers of Army, ITBP, Air-Force, Police, heads of concerned departments were present.
 
From Kargil, Sonam Chosjor, Incharge ADC Kargil and concerned officers of Kargil attended the meeting through video conferencing.
 
The heads of concerned departments of both the districts were instructed for the proper execution of the directions in a well-coordinated manner.
 
March past parade of CRPF, ITBP, and Police forces, NCC cadets and school children contingents, cultural programmes by different schools and cultural groups of both Leh and Kargil districts will be showcased. 
 
Additional arrangements including proper seating for VIPs, invitees, and general public; inclusion of arm artillery vehicles in the march past; inclusion of selected contingents for march past and cultural programme from Kargil district; flag past with showering of flowers; security arrangements; refreshment and drinking water facilities and other important issues were discussed during the meeting.
