Training program on disaster management continues in Gram Panchayats of Kargil
The training program on disaster response, relief, and rescue in Gram Panchayat of Kargil, Shargole, Sankoo, Shakar Chiktan, and TSG blocks was held on December 20.
The programme was organised by District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) Kargil through Aapda Mitra Volunteers in collaboration with UTDRF, Fire and Emergency and Health Department, and Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department (RD&PRD).
The training programs were held at Panchayat Mulbekh, Panchayat Ghar Tambis, Panchayat Thasgam A, Panchayat Halqa Stakchay and Panchayat Halqa Kaksar.
BDOs, Apata Volunteers, PRI members, Nambardars, volunteers of religious organizations, NGOs, locals including women, and others were present.
The training program aims to equip individuals in the district with skills to respond effectively to disasters and emergencies. The program focuses on preparedness and swift, efficient action.
The Apada volunteers, UTDRF personnel, and experts showcased hands-on demonstrations during the training program, arming participants with crucial skills to adeptly navigate diverse disaster scenarios.
The initiative emphasizes preparedness and empowers the community to proactively navigate and overcome potential challenges, fostering resilience in the face of disasters.
In addition, participants gain crucial insights into first aid treatment for injuries in untoward incidents. Demonstrations emphasised practical aspects, equipping individuals with essential skills for effective responses.
