Training program empowers Assistant Electoral Registration Officers and Booth Level Officers
District Election Officer / Deputy Commissioner, Leh, organised a one-day training program for Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AERO) and Booth Level Officers (BLO) at Sindhu Sanskriti Kendra Leh on September 18.
The training aimed to familiarize participants with the newly developed BLO App and SVEEP/ERONET 2.0 as part of the Special Summary Revision of the Photo Electoral Roll-2024.
The training session witnessed active participation from various stakeholders, including Tehsildars / Assistant Electoral Registration Officers of Leh district, and officials from the District Election Office.
IT Manager, Stanzin Angmo and IT Manager, Sajjad Hussain led the training session on the newly developed BLO App. Stanzin Angmo provided an insightful overview of the BLO App, highlighting its significance and the benefits it offers to Booth Level Officers.
While, Sajjad Hussain conducted a presentation on voter registration, the submission of forms, and the tracking of applications through the BLO App. He emphasized the importance of BLOs conducting House to House (H2H) visits for field verification, as this approach facilitates a comprehensive House to House (H2H) survey.
District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Leh, Dr. Tsewang Morup delivered a presentation on the Systematic Voter’s Education and Electoral Education (SVEEP) program. SVEEP, a flagship initiative of the Election Commission of India, focuses on voter education, raising voter awareness, and promoting voter literacy throughout India.
Dr. Tsewang Morup elaborated on the action plan and strategies devised to engage individuals in the voting process.
Further, he discussed various programs and initiatives designed to enhance voter education and awareness to increase voter turnout at the polling stations where voter turnout was recorded low during the Lok Sabha Election 2019.
