Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology to conduct eye camp in Leh from July 7
CEC, Hill Council, Leh, Tashi Gyalson chaired a preparatory meeting regarding the upcoming Eye camp in Leh district on July 3.
The eye camp will be held in association with the renowned Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology based in Kathmandu- Nepal organised by Phande Lekchin Welfare Trust, Leh in collaboration with LAHDC Leh.
Highlighting the par excellence humanitarian work of Tilganga Institute headed by Dr Sanduk Ruit, CEC Gyalson expressed gratefulness over the opportunity to have their services rendered for the welfare of the people of Ladakh.
He directed the Health Department officers headed by Chief Medical Officer Leh to provide all the necessary support and cooperation to ensure the success of the Eye Camp.
It was informed that the advance team from Tilganga Institute would commence the screening tests of the patients for eye ailments at different near and far locations of the district from 7 July, enabling access to a population.
Similarly, the meeting deliberated on the logistical support to enable mass public mobilisation at the screening centres and the tentative dates for surgeries at SNM Hospital by the team of doctors from the Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology.
