Tibetans celebrates 34th anniversary of conferment of Nobel Peace Prize on His Holiness Dalai Lama
Commemorating the 34th anniversary of the conferment of the Nobel Peace Prize to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, the Tibetan community in Leh organised a ceremonial function at CRO office on December 10.
Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, Tashi Gyalson attended the function as the chief guest. Executive Councillor (Tibetan Welfare), LAHDC Leh, Tashi Namgyal Yakzee was the guest of honor.
Councillors of Nyoma, Korzok & Phyang constituency of LAHDC Leh, SDM Nyoma, Tibetan CRO Ladakh, Speaker of the Tibetan Local Assembly Ladakh, and various other representatives from wards of Tibetan Settlement were also present.
CEC Tashi Gyalson congratulated the Tibetan community both inside and outside Tibet, on this special occasion.
"His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama is a global ambassador for peace and harmony. Despite facing adversity at a very young age, having to leave his own country, he continues to advocate for maintaining harmony and urges peaceful resolutions to ongoing issues. As we observe World Human Rights Day today, it is a global commitment to advocate against any human rights violation worldwide, including those happening inside Tibet for an extended period," said CEC Gyalson.
CEC also emphasised the need for a unified voice against the violation of human rights across the globe. He urges fellow citizens to follow the advice and guidance of eminent personalities like His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama in maintaining global harmony and a peaceful society.
He also highlighted the focus of LAHDC Leh on ensuring equal development of the Tibetan community residing in Ladakh and assured continuous assistance from the Hill Council and the Ladakh Administration in the future as well.
CRO Ladakh and other esteemed dignitaries also addressed the gathering highlighting the significance of the day.
